2011 and 2012, saw two of our larger scale poker events take place within the grandeur of the Lancaster Ballroom in the Savoy Hotel. The Quintessentially Foundation approached us to run a charity poker event in this stunning location.
The Quintessentially Charity Poker Tournament 2011 raised just over £100,000 for SOS Children with players buying their seats for £250 each. With over 20 tables in play and player’s re-entering for the first hour we managed to raise an extra £30,000 on the night itself. We were extremely proud to be part of such a successful coup for the worthy charity.
Branded felt were provided and fitted by Viva Vegas, with Dusk till Dawn, the UK’S largest Poker venue, as the table sponsors. Also provided was a tournament clock projected onto the large screen for players to view the tournament structure. The clock was also branded, that year by Boodles, the jewelers based in the Savoy Hotel Reception.
The event drew in some famous faces with David Walliams and John McCririck playing as well as famous UK poker professionals Liv Boeree and Roland De Wolfe.
The 2012 Event doubled on the previous year’s success with £230,000 being raised for the Prince’s Trust. The event saw many familiar faces from the previous year as well as new faces taking their first shot at the QCPT title.
Poker Nights are an absolutely fantastic way to generate large donations for charity. If you are thinking of a new fundraising idea for your next event then look no further. Quintessentially and their fantastic team at the Foundation really set the bar for a hugely successful fundraising night.
